Why Hmarram.com- The Hmar Online Museum Project?

Well, there is no single answer to this question. But, I’m sure everyone who put forward the same question to others will have an idea of what is Hmarram – at least in their own vision. For some, Hmarram is nothing but an area comprising the beautiful hills along the Mizoram-Manipur border. While for others, it denotes a politically strategic geographical location wherein they build their dreams of a ‘homeland’. This site, however, is interested in ‘Hmarram’ more as a socio-cultural area where a culturally rich tribe lives in a beautiful natural surrounding. This online museum will try to feature not just the glossy view of ‘Hmarram’. It is interested in a 360-degree view of the areas predominantly inhabited by the Hmar tribe of North East India.
