‘Ṭu’ is a rest house in a jhum field

‘Ṭu’ is a jhum-hut or rest house that are commonly found in rural Hmar Hills in northeast India. Farmers built these thatched structures, in most cases in the upper portion or middle of the field, so that they can have a better view of their crops. It is equipped with a mandatory fireplace and a verandah called ‘namthlak’ (verandah), perhaps one of the most romantic places in the field for young lovers and a poetic person.
